Valerie is the most recent addition to the EMAP team primarily serving Allegheny County and the greater Pittsburgh area. Her office is located at The University Pittsburgh’s Institute of Entrepreneurial Excellence within the Small Business Development Center. Prior to joining EMAP, Valerie worked as an Air Quality District Supervisor for the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in the southwest region.

Valerie started her environmental career as a field inspector for the Cleveland Division of Air Quality. She enjoyed working for the City of Cleveland for over 10 years until moving to Pennsylvania where she gained multi-faceted environmental knowledge working as an Environmental Manager for a manufacturing and mining company in York, PA. She later moved into a position with DEP, in Harrisburg, as an Executive Assistant for the Office of Waste, Air, Radiation and Remediation.

Valerie holds a B.S. in Environmental Studies from Youngstown State University and law degree from The University of Akron School of Law.
