Internship Opportunities for Small Businesses
Shippensburg University is excited to launch a new initiative that bridges the gap between local small businesses and talented college students throughout the region. This program is designed to create a pipeline of paid internships and micro-internships for Shippensburg University students, providing valuable hands-on experience while supporting the growth of local businesses.
Participating businesses will receive technical assistance from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) to identify potential internship opportunities and job roles.
Year 1
Internship and micro-internship wages will be paid by SBII at 100%. The business will be responsible for payroll taxes.
Year 2
Wages will be funded at 50% by the SBII and the business will be responsible for payroll taxes.
Year 3
Wages and payroll taxes will be funded 100% by the business.
To participate in this program you must be...
- A for-profit small business
- Able to supply history of employees
- In business for three or more years
- Located in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, or York Counties
- A Shippensburg University SBDC client (which is free and confidential)
