Center of Excellence for Manufacturing Innovation at Bucknell University SBDC
Bucknell SBDC helps manufacturers improve processes, launch new products, and ethically apply AI tools to drive smarter, faster innovation. AI adoption and fluency has become a critical asset for Pennsylvania’s manufacturers, and Bucknell SBDC can help them apply it in their engineering and technical functions, as well as in general business and operational applications.

Ken Codeluppi works with his International Trade Consultant, Brent Rondon, at Pitt SBDC. Ken attends Go Global exporting training events and has been able to make connections for his exporting needs. Most recently he was invited to an SBDC event that hosted the Ambassador from Panama. The Ambassador shared some experiences and business contacts with Ken; one of those contacts in Panama is Ken’s current rep. Ken was able to work with Brent to develop an export plan for Panama.
Soltech Solutions
Soltech Solutions is a Bethlehem, Pennsylvania–based manufacturer specializing in cutting-edge LED grow lights designed for indoor gardening and biophilic design. After expanding its manufacturing footprint in Bethlehem’s Pi incubator, bolstered by a $15,000 Keystone Innovation Zone technology transfer grant, the company now ships thousands of units globally, including installations at Google’s New York City headquarters and commercial projects like Rockefeller Center. This international reach has contributed to rising revenue and team expansion.
Mancini’s Bakery
In an effort to ensure success, Mancini’s engaged the Duquesne SBDC to help with business and strategic planning. The Duquesne SBDC and the client worked together to complete a SWOT analysis, develop a vision, and identified 11 key strategic thrusts and 22 strategic objectives to be pursued over the next five years to execute the plan. Mancini’s is now on a path toward growth, including facility expansion at their McKees Rocks location, equipment acquisition to automate key baking processes, and a focus on customer, sales, and marketing excellence to drive strong revenue performance.
