Sick of Single is a dating coaching firm that teaches women how to go from dating to relationship to marriage. Annie White is the CEO and founder of SOS.
She began coaching when friends started asking her to provide relationship advice to them after seeing how she was so successful at her own relationships.
After 5 years working in IT at Accenture and JP Morgan, Annie decided that she was tired of corporate and took the leap to do what she was passionate about and started SOS Daters.
She initially launched her company in January of 2014 as a home-based business but realized there were too many distractions working from home. She applied and was accepted into the Temple SBDC Incubator in July 2014 to become more disciplined. Ms. White realized her need for an office space where she could work and be around other like-minded entrepreneurs.
The Incubator provided a safe and supportive place for her to work on her business. It also provided her access to interns, who possess a plethora of skills with social media marketing. The Incubator interns were able to help Ms. White develop a website, produce videos and effective content for her social media sites.
During her first year, she hosted a variety of events which were more time consuming than helpful and did not generate clientele for the business. Currently, Annie hosts fewer events but she is now able to attract clients by offering free teleseminars and selling her coaching program afterwards. Her background in information technology allowed her to develop a successful virtual coaching program.
SOS’s first year of profit hit the negatives and with her second year, she still made way less than her corporate job. However, this year she is on track with meeting her sales goal of six figures for the year. Once Ms. White realized that she needed to focus on sales and increased her prices, the business grew.
SOS Daters is currently responsible for one marriage, three engagements and countless relationships.
