Background:
Through a referral from the Peoples Security Bank, Charles & Jennifer Collura came to the University of Scranton Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in 2012 for assistance in obtaining a construction loan and information on starting a daycare in Jermyn. Through funding from the Jobs Act, the Colluras were referred to the SBDC for assistance in business planning and in creating financial projections for a new construction project that would provide daycare for newborns and children up to five years of age at Bella Bambini's Daycare.
SBDC Assistance:
SBDC consultants provided the client with business planning information and created a project cost estimate and financial projections. Through the planning process, the SBDC provided information on the licensing and regulations in running a daycare, as well as information on planning a grand opening.
