York-Seaway | Erie CountyQuick Links![]() The Gannon University SBDC worked with York-Seaway to add equipment and expand their business. Rick York started York-Seaway, a company that has provides precision machined parts and custom engineered assemblies and products, more than 30 years ago. He remains actively involved in the operations and technical aspects of the company. The manufacturing process covers a wide range of products including small specialty parts, large shafts, gear rings, and working assemblies. With their wide range of computer numerical controlled (CNC) and manual machines, the company now runs medium size production lots on three shifts. York-Seaway's many services include polishing, heat treating, blasting, painting, electro-mechanical gear cutting, and non-destructive testing. The Gannon University SBDC worked with York-Seaway this year when the owner decided to add equipment. Financial projections were prepared for the company to be submitted to economic development agencies. Financial analysis was also done to assist the management in benchmarking their financial performance to the industry. Throughout the past four years, York-Seaway has worked with the SBDC’s Environmental and International Consultants for their expertise in those fields. York-Seaway now provides 70 well paid manufacturing jobs in Erie County, with 30 added over the past two years alone. The company’s loans were approved and new machinery was recently purchased; sales have increased by nearly 25% over the past two years, and generally exceed $8 million per year now. York-Seaway is well prepared to continue its growth and retain valuable manufacturing jobs in Erie County. |
