This module is not available as a stand alone course as it is part of a series that entails a $2500 fee. This course is designed to educate construction contractors about how construction contracts are formed through the bidding process. The course has a heavy focus on construction specific applications of contract law. The course covers the basic difference between private construction contracts and public construction contracts. Attendees will earn how to distinguish between these different types of contracts and know what each requires. The elements of contract will be explored as well as the risks involved and the consequences involved for non-performance on a contract. Various contract terms will be explained so that attendees get a general understanding of these terms and how disputes can be settled through arbitration etc. The course is ideal for construction project managers, independent contractors engaged in the construction industry, technically skilled workers engaged in various trades, apprentices, and adult construction workers.
