Unemployment Compensation - Separation Issues and Refusing Suitable Work

Understanding unemployment compensation and the application of its laws can be tricky. This seminar series brings the expertise right to you with a representative from the Office of Unemployment Compensation Benefits. In addition, at the conclusion of each seminar, presenters will include a Q&A session. This seminar will give an overview of the claims filing process, the determination process, and appeal rights. We will show you the forms that an employer may receive when a claim is opened, how they are used to determine the claimant's eligibility and to protect the employer's liability, discuss the specific time frame to respond to these forms, and the importance of responding timely. In addition, we will discuss the SIDES program; advantages and disadvantages. Accounting and Human Resource Professionals: Each session has been approved for 3 CPE credits through the Center for Accounting Education & Research. These sessions have been submitted to the HR Certification Institute for approval of 3 professional development credits through the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
