ServSafe Food Safety Certification Class and Exam

ServSafe, a nationally recognized certification program for safe food handling practices, meets Pennsylvania regulations and is accredited by the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation. Taught by Lisa Hall Zielinski, Director of The University of Scranton SBDC and a Certified ServSafe Instructor/Registered ServSafe Proctor, the training covers topics involving food-borne illnesses and health risks that commercial food service establishments must learn in order to provide safe food for customers; including sanitary facilities and equipment, personal hygiene, time and temperature control, and much more. The class also presents helpful small business information, not found in other ServSafe classes. In addition, a representative from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture visits the class to discuss regulations. Registration deadline: November 28.
