Gannon University SBDC Announces Keynote Speaker for 9th Annual Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference

Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Women in Leadership Development (WILD) Conference, hosted by the Gannon University Small Business Development Center (SBDC). The conference will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at The Ambassador Banquet and Conference Center in Erie.

This year’s keynote speaker is Natalia Olson-Urtecho. Currently the Mid-Atlantic Regional Administrator for the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Ms. Olson-Urtecho is the founder and former president and CEO of EG, a company dedicated to helping other organizations increase profitability through environmentally and socially responsible planning and strategies. She has more than 18 years of experience working with entities of all scales both domestically and abroad, and she has been recognized most recently as “Latina Powerhouse” by the Maryland Hispanic Business Conference.

The conference will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and present nine breakout sessions in three tracks: Women Business Owners/Entrepreneurs, Executive Leadership, and Risking Leaders.

In 2008, the Gannon University SBDC founded WILD to emphasize the concept of women helping women through knowledge, energy and passion. This concept of connectivity is achieved by encouraging networking, providing leadership opportunities and supporting each other. The 9th annual WILD speaker topics include social media, financial management, entrepreneurship and leadership. It is anticipated that over 400 attendees will take part in WILD 2016, with former attendees traveling from Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, and Indiana to attend the event.
