18 for October: Giá Pronto Restaurant

  • Share |

Up next in our 18 for October success stories is Giá Pronto Restaurant.

Giá Pronto was established by Marco Lentini. Marco is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised by immigrant parents. In 2003, Marco was inspired to create an organic food company in his hometown.

To help propel his idea into a business, he enlisted the support of the Wharton Small Business Development Center (SBDC). With the help of his consultant, Marco was able to secure a loan from the SBA.

"The SBA waived certain loan fees and it saved me $26, 000," Lentini said.

Lentini’s first restaurant opened on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 2004. With the help of the SBDC, Marco was able to receive another loan to open a second restaurant location in Center City.

Currently, Marco has five restaurant locations and employs 70 workers. He has appeared on Fox 29 News and Fox Business Channel, promoting the benefits of the economic stimulus plan created last year for small businesses.
